Sporting Bears Motor Club are a dedicated group of classic car and sports car enthusiasts with the primary aim of raising money for children’s charities.

Through social and touring events, dream rides and festival fundraising the ‘Bears’ have raised over £3,000,000 for children’s charities in the UK since first forming in 1989. All the money that is raised from events goes directly towards children’s charities, both local and nationwide. Charities include: Ability Dogs 4 Young People, Auditory Verbal UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital and many many more.

The club was established in 1989 by Chris and Pat Glasbey when Chris felt empowered to explore a new option for classic car owners. Tired of car shows, they wanted a new direction, aim and sense of achievement for classic car owners. This resulted in a unique organisation for car enthusiasts raising money for charity. Their first event was in 1990, where the original Bears members worked for 5 days to raise £800 for their first charity. Since then, the organisation has only bloomed into a wonderful nationwide movement.
