Sales Engineer, UK

Do you have a good understaning of datacentre infrastructure?

A Sales Engineer at Ethos Technology uses their technical expertise to understand customer needs, present to sales prospects for our vendor portfolio, and support the sales team by providing detailed technical information to close deals, essentially bridging the gap between technical specifications and sales strategy by explaining how our vendors products can solve customer problems.

The role will also involve post sales on-site implementation of storage and backup solutions, across the UK and EMEA.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Deep understanding of the Ethos Technology vendors product features, functionality, and technical specifications to answer customer questions accurately
  • Willingness to learn new technology from our existing and new vendors
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to identify potential opportunities
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations to showcase product capabilities and benefits to customers
  • Collaborating with the sales team by providing technical expertise during the sales cycle
  • Implementation of storage and backup solutions, on-site at end user premises or CoLo datacentre facilities

Essential skills and qualities:

  • General technical understanding of datacentre infrastructure, such as compute, storage and networking, as well as public cloud offerings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences
  • Engaging with potential and existing customers to assess their needs, identify pain points, and demonstrate how to address them
  • Identifying customer challenges and proposing effective solutions from the Ethos portfolio
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations and product demonstrations
  • Experience of deploying servers, storage, virtualisation, networking and cloud solutions
  • Ability to pass vendor certifications to facilitate on-site implementation
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Some UK and EMEA travel required

Full training will be provided for the current and future vendors in the Ethos Technology portfolio. As well as vendor approved training, either online or in-person.

The role reports to the technical lead based in the UK.
